Stitch in the Ditch and Other Ruler Work
Need help quilting in the ditch, or wondering what the ditch is? Want to know how to make continuous curves that all look the same using rulers? How about feathers or shapes with rulers? Ever wonder what to do with all those rulers you hear about? Or just get the most out of the rulers that you have. Then this would be the class for you. It is my goal to leave this class confident in how to stitch in the ditch accurately and use rulers with ease. Of course practice at home will be required. For this class you will need to bring a quilt block with any type of star, sawtooth star, friendship star, something with diagonal lines to work with and an inner border and an outer border at least 3 inches wide. This way we'll have the space to try several techniques and practice. Your finished block could be between 16 and 24 inches square. I will provide the backing and batting.

If you can Quilt it; you can WRITE IT!!!
This class is for the quilter who wants to offer their customer more by adding personalization to their quilts with the use of text. Imagine being able to offer you customer or even yourself a way to add the recipients name without having to own an embroidery machine. In the class we will make a sampler for your studio wall using various techniques, including thread work, faux trapunto, cornerstone and bobbin work. I will also show you how to add your customer's signature to the back of their quilts. Other techniques covered will be working with Plexiglas templates, tracing patterns, manipulating font and burying threads. We will be discussing and testing various products used to complete the sampler so that you may decide which you prefer. With the techniques learned in this class you will be able to increase your price per job and offer your customer added value in your quilting.
